Contents The course aims to analyze,basing on the existing schools of thought, the economic aggregates (consumption, income, investment, exports, imports, inflation, unemployment) by analyzing the stylized facts. After an introduction to the national accounts and definitional aspects, the course will focus on the definition of the economic system according to the assumptions of the main theories. Later we will look at the tools undertaken by policy-makers to correct the imbalances of the economic system in terms of fiscal, monetary and foreign exchange policies (demand policies).Particular attention will also be devoted to the supply-side policies and their effects on economic growth.
