Educational objectives It is expected that the student, at the end of the course, was able to have acquired the tools for understanding, on a molecular basis, the relationship between the structures of the classes of drugs in the program, their metabolism, their biological activity and their possible toxicity. It is also expected that the student knew and was able to draw the chemical structure of the main drugs, was able to denominate the drugs using IUPAC nomenclature.
Prerequisites In order to be able to understand the contents presented within the Course, the student must have attended Medicinal Chemistry I and Organic Chemistry II Courses. Moreover, it would be good if the student was successfully passed the corresponding exams.
Teaching methods Lectures
Learning verification modality The exam includes an oral test of duration of about 40-45 minutes aimed at ascertaining the level of knowledge and understanding achieved by student on the theoretical contents listed in the program. The student is required to accompany the discussion by writing structures, syntheses, nomenclature of the compounds on the blackboard. The oral exam will also evaluate the communication skills of the student, the propriety of language, the ability of organization of speech and the ability to make connections between disciplines.

Students coming from abroad in the frame of exchange programs may chose to be examined by a written test in Italian or English
