| Educational objectives | The student will acquire the skills of dealing with the use of herbal products used in phytotherapy and food supplementation. |
| Prerequisites | The knowledge acquired through the course of Biology and Food Plants. |
| Teaching methods | Didactic methods are mainly based on front lectures that will explain different topics with the help of slides. The classes are set as an interactive and discussed dialogue between student-teacher. |

Nutraceuticals in functional foods endowed with benefical properties against the musculo-skeletal and cardiovascular systems or involved in the regulation of human methabolism. Functional foods such as cranberry extracts and extravirgin olive oil. |
