Contents The course is divided into two modules: the first is the institutional part (1492-1815) with critical lectures of Modern History documents.
Reference texts For the first part: a universitary early modern history texbook. Suggested: Aurelio Musi, Un vivaio di storia. L'Europa nel mondo moderno, Biblion edizioni 2020 or Vittorio Criscuolo, Storia moderna, Pearson 2019. For the second part:
Educational objectives Knowledge of key events of Modern History. A first acquaintance with the early modern sources (production, preservation, historical uses).
Prerequisites It’s important to have taken at least the exam of Medieval History to understand the issues of teaching and the ways of the chronological development.
Teaching methods Frontal lessons with the help fo ppt, critical examination of various historical sources
Learning verification modality Partial written test during the course (if the course won't be on line)
