Contents The objective of this course is to offer a broad overview of the major topics and modeling tools of the economics of international markets. The course is structured in two parts. In the first part the students are first familiarized with the main concepts and models of international trade in goods and assets. They will then analyze the economics of specific international markets like the oil and gas markets, renewables markets or the ETS market.
The second part of the course provides an introduction to some major issues of international finance. Topics include (i) the FOREX market and models of exchange rate determination; (ii) Term Structure models and (un)conventional monetary policy; (iii) financial and currency crises; (iv) the economics of European integration.
