| Educational objectives | The main objective of the course is aimed at the methodological and institutional understanding of economic relations in the international arena. The main knowledge gained will be related to competitiveness in international markets and international economic policies. The main skills will be the ability to analyze the behavior of economic agents in different situations of the global market, to assess the impact of economic policies and to understand the strategic options for the firm's positioning in international markets. |
| Prerequisites | Prerequisito fondamentale è l'aver superato gli esami di economia previsti per il primo e il secondo anno. Tuttavia gli argomenti trattati nel corso non richiedono conoscenze avanzate in quanto si utilizzano esclusivamente strumenti grafici ed equazioni lineari. |
| Teaching methods | Il corso è organizzato con lezioni frontali per la discussione e insegnamento di tutti i principi teorici della materia. In aggiunta sono previsti approfondimenti seminariali. |

| Extended program | The course provides the basic analytical tools for the study of real and monetary international economics. The first part explores the determinants of international trade, factor mobility and discusses trade policies. The second part studies the open macroeconomic model and the determinants of exchange rates and the effects on production and prices in the short and long term. The course also includes insights on the international monetary system, the European single currency and the global financial crisis |
