| Contents | The course will focus on presenting the major theories related to interviewing, the different models (clinical psychological, HR, and research), the constituent elements, and the application areas. Furthermore, the methodology of qualitative research will be examined from both a theoretical and applied perspective. |
| Reference texts | Nicolini, C. (2009). Il colloquio nel ciclo di vita. Carocci. Del Corno F., Rizzi P., La ricerca qualitativa in psicologia clinica. Teoria, pratica, vincoli metodologici, Raffaello Cortina, Milano, 2010. - slide |
| Educational objectives | The proposed course in the third year addresses the theme of interviewing and qualitative research. It aims to provide students with knowledge and understanding of: - The relationship between theoretical models and operational practices of interviewing in various application areas, and to provide theoretical, conceptual, and technical tools related to different types of interviews (clinical, HR, research). - The developmental trajectory of qualitative research, including its tools and applicability. |
| Prerequisites | no |
| Teaching methods | The course is structured as follows: - Lectures covering all topics related to interviewing and qualitative research. - Thematic discussions, construction of a qualitative research project, and simulation of interview conduct through in-class workshops. - Participation in any seminars as required. |
| Learning verification modality | The exam will be written and will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions, graded on a 30-point scale. The exam will cover the topics addressed in the two required texts and in the course slides. Each correct answer is worth 1 point; each incorrect answer is worth 0 points. The time allowed is 40 minutes. Students entitled to additional time will have 60 minutes and must notify the instructor in advance, at least one day before the exam, via email. Students who require the use of a university computer must indicate this in the notes section at the time of exam registration. In the absence of such notification, it will not be possible to guarantee the availability of a computer, and therefore it will not be possible to take the exam using this modality, in order to ensure appropriate logistical organization. Participation in in-class group work and on Teams (for authorized students) is optional. Participation and the related final product may contribute to the awarding of an additional score, ranging from 0 to 1 point, to be added to the written exam grade solely as a bonus. Students who participated in laboratory group work, either in class or on Teams, must indicate the group number and the relevant channel in the exam registration notes. No other forms of notification will be considered. The recognition of any additional bonus points derived from group work is limited to the first available exam session. Non-participation in group work does not entail any penalty for the purposes of the final assessment. |
| Extended program | The course will focus on introductory theoretical reflections on interviewing, its constituent aspects, and various types and fields of application. Additionally, it will present theories of qualitative research development, from historical evolution to methodological debate, covering premises, constituent elements, and various tools. |
