For the 2023/2024 academic year, the University of Perugia has admitted 11 categories of students to distance learning. Students who may be interested are invited to check the possibility of attending lectures in DAD on the website Procedura DAD - Università degli Studi di Perugia (unipg.it).
Other information The students follow two parts of each course: a theoretical part of the course concerning the linguistics and translatological analysis of the language that lasts one or two semesters; and a practical part of the course that is taught at the CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo) and lasts for the whole year (both semesters) (80 hours) aimed at learning and practicing the language. The objective of this practical part of the course exercises is to achieve a level of linguistic knowledge [here specify according to the year: B2 first year undergraduate, B2 + second year undergraduate, C1 third year undergraduate; C1 + first MA, C2 second MA, in our case].
International language certification (considered valid for two years for the entrance exam) does NOT exempt the student from the final course exam held at the end of the annual language courses at the CLA. This examination is mandatory to access the theoretical part of the exam with your Professor in the Department.
Learning verification modality Oral or written exam in English.
The exam reserved for students who have regularly attended the teacher's course will take place in written form at the end of the course. The teacher will verify the theoretical knowledge relating to the morphosyntax and semantics topics covered in class, and the ability to carry out practical exercises.
For NON-Attending students, the final exam will be oral only, and will take place on one of the exam dates published on the Department website.
For everyone: the final grade will consider 50% of the grade of the B2+ level English language test that the student will have to take in advance at the University Language Centre.
Students with disabilities and/or DSA: for any information on the University's services, please visit https://lettere.unipg.it/home/disabilita-e-dsa and contact the Departmental Contact Person (Prof. Alessandra Di Pilla: alessandra.dipilla@unipg.it).

Extended program Morphology: derivation, composition, and other processes of word formation; morphological and morphemic analysis. Syntax: grammar categories and word classes; argument structure and thematic roles; aspect; eventive nouns. Lexical semantics: semantic relations and figures of speech; textual semantics: cohesion and coherence; discourse semantics: introduction to Pragmatics and Speech Act Theory.
