Educational objectives The course develops the basic elements of some mathematical models and discusses the related methodologies.
At the end of the course the student has acquired skills to understand the numerous applications in the various sectors of science and modern technology.
On the basis of the interests expressed by the students, the didactic potential of modeling with elementary tools will also be emphasized
Prerequisites Basic knowledge of differential and integral calculus, algebra and geometry.
Teaching methods Individual and group-work activities and exercises
on mathematics problems; brain storming, problem solving, software.
Learning verification modality oral exam lasting about 45 minutes.
The interview, in addition to assessing the knowledge acquired, intends to evaluate the student's skills on mathematical education
Students will be encouraged to present their own insights into the topics of the course

Extended program Technical aspects. Presentation and discussion of European and Italian legislation regarding training objectives for teaching. National and international evaluations on teaching (INVALSI, PISA,...)
Cultural aspects. Presentation and critical analysis of some proposals for educational innovation. Innovative teaching methods. Support offered to teaching by an adequate use of technology and the web. Potential/critical issues offered by AI.
Emphasis will be given to the educational potential offered by modeling with elementary tools
