Contents | 1) Detection of ionizing radiation 2) Gaseous and solid state active detectors; Passive detectors, films. 3) Principles of radiotherapy; 4)Main therapy technique with external beams: elettroni beams, proton and ion beams, photon beams. 5) Other therapies: Brachitherapy, Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), Nuclerar Medicine therapy, Radioguided surgery. |

Educational objectives | Knowledge of ionizing radiaion detection techniques and of sensors' characteristics. Knowledge of the main radiotherapy techniques and their application domains. |

Teaching methods | Lecture both in resence than inremote connection using networking solutions. Occasional seminars linked to course contents if available. |
Learning verification modality | Oral examination (average duration > 40' ) concerning all the contents teached during the course. |
Extended program | 1) ionizing radiation detection (16 h) - ionization chambers; - gas detectors; - scintillation detectors; - films and passive detectors; - MOSFET and silicion diodes; - diamond detectors; 2) external beam radiotherapy (16 h) - electron beams therapy; - adrotherapy (proton and ions); - photon therapy techniques: stereotactic, cyberknife, IMRT, VMAT; 3) Other techniques (10 h): - Brachittherapy; - Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT); - nuclear medicine therapy; - radioguided surgery; |
