Educational objectives The accounting systems. The differences between the national and the international accounting system. Process of preparation of the financial statements. Structure and content of international accounting standards IAS / IFRS and the key differences with the Italian national accounting.
Prerequisites In order to be able to understanding and know how to tackle the course, students must have the following knowledge :
- the system and the accounting method
- logic of preparation of the financial statements
This precondition is valid both for attending and not attending students

Learning verification modality The exam consists of a written test of four open-ended questions.
The four questions concern all parts of the course: two question on the first part of the course (the role of accounting and the different accounting systems, and the financial statement equations); two questions on the second part of the course (international accounting standard)
The duration of the test is 2 hours.

The concepts of: the role of accounting and the different accounting systems, and the financial statement equations (balance sheet and income statement). The internationalization of financial statements. International accounting standards (IAS / IFRS). The Italian law on the financial statement. The framework. IAS / IFRS. IAS 1: Presentation of Financial Statements. Cash flow statements (IAS 7).
Second part
Property, Plant and Equipment (IAS 16). Leases (IAS 17). Intangible assets (IAS 38). Impairment of assets (IAS 36). Inventories (IAS 2). Construction contracts (IAS 11). Financial instruments: Disclosure and Measurement (IAS 32 and 39). Employee benefits (IAS 19). Provisions, Contingent Liabilities and Contingent Assets (IAS 37). Revenue (IAS 18). Borrowing costs (IAS 23).The Ires and the Irap. The principles of the income taxes. The income taxes (IAS 12).
